Up to $2,500 to be Awarded in Southern Colorado

The Southern Colorado Press Club (SCPC) announced it will be awarding grants of up to $2,500 to support the projects of individuals and/or organizations in Southern Colorado whose mission aligns with the Club’s priorities. Types of organizations who may qualify include, but are not limited to, schools, community centers, and libraries. Individuals can also apply, and do not need to be affiliated with an organization to qualify. Qualified projects should be short term, with a completion date no later than June 28, 2020.

“We have seen many great proposals so far and are happy with the organizations and programs which have been awarded funding. It is a pleasure for this group of professionals to be able to create opportunities for those who have an interest in pursuing a field in the press,” says Press Club President Scott Jones. The grant offers support for projects in the field of media, journalism, literacy, public relations, or similar.

Grant applications will be accepted from Monday, February 4 until Friday, March 8, and should be submitted to socopressclub@gmail.com. Awardees will be notified by April 1, 2019. Applications can be found online at www.socopressclub.org.

The Southern Colorado Press Club provides opportunities for professional growth from the various standpoints represented by club members – news, information, public relations, advertising, development and media educators. The Club meets monthly September through May and holds an annual fundraising dinner for mass communications scholarships.
