WORDS TO LIVE BY

“When you teach a woman, you teach the generations.”

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Garcia volunteers her time in her home town of Mora, New Mexico where for Las Acequias de Cañoncito, her and her family clean the pre-colonial irrigation systems and dig ditches to make sure water flows to valley to all who are in need.

WHY IS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IMPORTANT?

“If you believe that goodness can and will prevail in our communites, than you can fight the odds. The small steps that I take to help my community, can manifest into a revolution and change the world. I am planting seeds for a better day and for the generations to come.”

IF I COULD IMPROVE THE WORLD I WOULD...

“Reclaim human’s role in the natural world”

COLLEGE OF CHOICE

Garcia has applied to Fort Lewis College, Humboldt State University, the University of Colorado at Boulder and Denver, the University of New Mexico, and the University of Denver. She hs been accepted to Colorado State University.
