The Arvada Festivals Commission is excited to host its second, culturally driven, event at McIlvoy Park on February 23. The Arvada WinterFest is a free, family event with games, performances, music, vendors, food, and hot drinks. Kids can collect passport stamps as they visit booths and play games inspired from around the world. Come on out and celebrate the diversity in Arvada at our new Winter Festival. Join the Museum of Nature and Schience as you experiment with some of your favorite candy and learn how sugars affect the human body. Join the Arthur Lakes Library, 1400 Illinois St., Golden, on Friday, February 22nd from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for a lecture on Da Vinci, his life, and inventions. The DaVinci Machines Exhibition is on display at the Arthur Lakes Library and these exhibitions will provide tremendous insight into the innovation process and create an understanding of DaVinci as a 15th-century technical entrepreneur. Join them and create a stunning visual portrayal of the innovation process as it was originally developed almost 500 years ago. Explore the vision and process of one of the world’s most recognized inventor and artist, and understand the contrasting approaches developed by Michelangelo and DaVinci. These exhibitions are free and open to the public and will allow Mines students and visitors to explore attributes of DaVinci that resonate to a modern entrepreneur.
Join this fundraiser luncheon, benefiting Project Smile and Vision, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, working to provide much-needed dental and vision care for children in need in the Poudre School District. Project Smile is now celebrating it’s 12th year of helping needy children in our local community. In the upcoming school year, Project Smile will continue to provide dental supplies, dental and vision screenings, and needed treatment, and reach over 3,500 students in PSD schools. Join the Pueblo Tigers for Try Hockey for Free on Saturday, February 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This event is designed to provide kids, between the ages of 4 to 9, a completely free experience to try youth hockey.
