The 2019 Mazda MX 5 Miata is still one of the most fun cars on the road. The new 2019 model is the most powerful Miata to date. The 2.0 liter generates 181 HP and 151 kb-ft of torque and can come with standard 6 speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2019 model actually gets better gas mileage on the manual transmission models than previous year Miatas, and registered at 29 mpg between city and highway. The Grand Touring model had sharper handling much due to the Bilstein shocks, a front strut tower brace, sport tuned suspension and a limited slip differential.
Sitting in the recaro bucket seats felt extremely comfortable and snug which provided better side bolstering, not sure how comfortable a large person would fit. Automatic emergency braking and forward collision warnings are standard on the grand touring trim and optional on the Sport and Club, but you canít get the active safety tech if you opt for the BBS/Brembo or BBS/ Brembo /Recaro package. The tilt and telescoping steering wheel makes it easier to find a comfortable driving position. Climate controls are straight forward to operate, however MazdaConnect are a bit dated and could use an update to keep up with the times.
The 2019 has plenty of punch when passing slower traffic and climbing up steep grades. The extra power and higher redline makes the 2019 Miata feel strong and full of energy, the sharp handling provides you with confidence when corner at higher speeds and mountain driving, it eases into corners.
Thereís plenty to like about the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata. All this amounts to a superb roadster thatís even more fun to drive and easier to live with. Visit your Mazda dealership for a test drive. You might just be enticed into owning one for those fun summer drives!
