In coordination with the 50th anniversary of Stonewall and World Pride, CHAC invites you to their June show “Amor es Amor: Celebrating the LGBTQ community within Chicanisma/o,” at CHAC Gallery-Denver, 222 Santa Fe Dr. on Friday June 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. In a first-of-its-kind exhibition, CHAC is celebrating the LGBTQ within Chicanisma/o. At a time when many messages are focused on what separates us, Amor es Amor is a bold step in sharing what we have in common. Defined by a history where oppression and violence led to a lack of visibility, both celebrate their strength in community, self-reliance, and family; and capacity for love through vibrant visual art, writing, music and dance.

Get Outdoors Day Colorado and SouthWest Denver Coalition are joining forces to host Safe Summer Kick Off on Get Outdoors Day (SSKO GO), Saturday, June 8, at Garfield Lake Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This FREE, family-friendly event is designed to promote access to healthy and safe outdoor spaces, support under-resourced communities, and celebrate nature exploration. Summer officially starts when Thorntonfest is here. On Saturday June 8, join the City of Thornton at 108th Ave. and Colorado Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for tons of fun for the entire family. A Taste of Puerto Rico (ATOPR) Festival is one of the largest Latino Festivals in the State of Colorado. Attracting over 25,000 attendees each year and growing.
