Join us at Films for the Future on October 9 to watch students and educators from DPS schools as they share their experiences in terms of race, inequities, safety and social pressures.
On Wednesday, October 9 DPS Foundation will be hosting its second annual Films for the Future event at Sie FilmCenter. This documentary screening of The Student Experience will help raise awareness about what our students are experiencing by engaging the community in a conversation to understand the impact of culturally responsive education practices and how Denver Public Schools seeks to build strong, authentic relationships between students and their educators.
The documentary provides an intimate look into the lives of a few DPS students at five different schools and showcases the power of hearing directly from our students on their experiences regarding race, safety and social pressures. Students in our community face challenges every single day. Having courageous conversations together is the first step in making progress for our kids.
The event will kick off with an introduction from DPS Superintendent Susana Cordova, who will share how this work is closely tied to her vision for the district: ensuring that there is culturally responsive education throughout the district. Join us and be a part of the conversation.
This event will sell out. Get your tickets today by visiting us online at https://dpsfoundation.org/films-for-the-future/ or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
