Ms. Irene Ibarra passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019. She was a great friend to many, a mentor and someone who always inspired.
Ibarra had more than 25 years’ experience as a chief executive, public policy leader and health advocate prior to her retirement in August 2010. Ms. Ibarra’s previous experience includes: President and Chief Executive Officer of The Colorado Trust; Executive Vice President of The California Endowment; Chief Executive Officer of Alameda Alliance for Health; and, practicing law at Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson. In Colorado, Ms. Ibarra was also part of Governor Roy Romer’s cabinet and was an appointee of Mayor Frederico Pena. Ibarra and her husband Armando Quiroz were founders of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado and in 2014 Irene received the inaugural Soul of Leadership Award (SOL) from the Foundation.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned for November. More details will be forthcoming. For questions or information, please contact Carlos Martinez at the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado: 720.923.7612 or cmartinez@Latinocfc.org.
