Luz Celaya is a high school senior at George Washington High School who currently holds a 3.214 GPA. Celaya is currenlty taking honors courses and with the help of AVID she is achieving her dream of becoming a first generation college graduate.

Celaya has donated her time at Crawford Elementary at the front dest, as well as helping teachers grade papers and organize classrooms.
WHY IS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IMPORTANT?
“I thing it’s important because it explains a lot of who you are. It also feels good to help someone without expecting anything in return.”
IF I COULD IMPROVE THE WORLD I WOULD...
“I would eliminate racism, because I’ve experienced it first hand, and also because we need a close community where there is no judgement.”
COLLEGE OF CHOICE
Celaya would like to attend Community College of Denver, Metro State University of Denver, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, or the University of Northern Colorado.
