Abraham Chavarria is a high school senrior at John F. Kennedy High School who currently holds a 4.6 GPA. Chavarria has been awarded Academic Excellence all four years of high school. Chavarria is also on the Honor Roll and was awarded the Colorado School of Mines Math & Science Award.

Chavarria has volunteered his time working at local food banks, community cleanups, as well as Trick or Treat Street at his high school.
WHY IS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IMPORTANT?
“I feel community involvement is important to see the needs in my neighborhood. I also enjoy seeing the good I am able to do in the community and how it can have a lasting impact on it and others.”
IF I COULD IMPROVE THE WORLD I WOULD...
“I would start by creating a way where all non-profits can come together and shoot commercials and sign up kids in high school to participate in helping a local cause or need in the community.”
COLLEGE OF CHOICE
Chavarria would like to attend the Colorado School of Mines. Chavarria has already been accepted to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
