Wings Aerospace Pathways (WAP) focuses on aerospace skills and experiences that prepare participants in grades 6-12 for careers in aerospace and beyond. The focus on hands-on, experiential learning in real-world context allows students to find out, first hand, what it takes to succeed in the aerospace industry. The skills learned, such as teamwork, problem solving, design thinking and applied technology reach beyond aerospace and are skills needed in many fields.
The program is open to students in grades 6-12. This is an enrichment program, which means families need to find an academic program that fulfills the needs of their children. Some families home school their children, others are enrolled in online school, and others are a part of hybrid and/or traditional “brick and mortar” schools that allow students to be released one day per week for our Hangar Days. As a part of the program, students will have an opportunity to participate in multiple aerospace projects throughout the two semester program.
Hangar Days:
Middle School – Tuesdays from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM
High School – Wednesdays from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
