Join Servicios de la Raza for an evening of Chicano Art and Restorative Justice on Friday February 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 3131 W 14th Ave. A silent auction will be held in support of our Victims is Safe-Transition and Self-Suffieciency program. The event is free. Refreshments will be provided.

Veterans and active military can receive free and reduced fee pet health care at the Bill Daniels Veterans Services, 1247 Santa Fe Dr. on Saturday, February 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rabies and distemper vaccines and limited veterinary exams are free. Microchip implants are $25. Appointments are not necessary. Services are available on a first come, first served basis to the first 100 pets.

After much discussion in local Facebook groups and on Nextdoor, many Thornton residents have expressed an interest in starting a local garden club. Let’s get together and hash this out! Join us for a meeting on Saturday, February 22, at 1 p.m. to discuss how we would like to organize and form a Thornton garden club at the cafe in the Wright Farms Anythink Library. Culinary medicine blends the art of food and cooking with the science of medicine. Discover how eating high-quality meals can help prevent and treat disease, while restoring wellbeing. Join CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center Registered Dietitians in our Demonstration Kitchen each Tuesday in February (5:30 - 6:00 p.m.) as they explore meal planning and cooking tips, learn new recipes, and try delicious samples. Join CSU and St. Jude’s at Colorado State University, 900 Oval Dr. from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. for Up ‘til Dawn 2020. There will be fun games to play all throughout the night. Join them and raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each person on a team must raise at least $100. Create a team or register for an existing one by going to fundraising.stjude.org. Make memories and help those in need.

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak region will be holding a vaccination clinic at our Pueblo campus every Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All vaccinations are just $10 each, no appointment necessary. First come, first served. Important details: Dogs must be leashed; Cats must be transported in carriers; Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella vaccines offered.
