The Colorado Avalanche have been on a historic run this season passing the once first-place Las Vegas Golden Knights last week and now sit four points ahead of them, leading the West Division decisively.
Though they hold the lead in the West, teams in the NHL have been playing outstanding hockey from coast to coast, which can change the positioning in any division from one day to the next. Despite Colorado’s lead in the West the Golden Knights made a statement yesterday after losing three straight at home, beating the St. Louis Blues 6-1.
The Avs have put together a nice 7-game stretch, winning all but one of their last seven games with the only loss coming at the hands of, you guessed it, the Golden Knights.
This week the Avs are on the road to finish off their two-game series with the Minnesota Wild. The Avs beat the Wild last night 5-4 after falling behind 1-0 in the first period. The Avs came out big in the second period scoring four goals to take a 4-1 lead over Minnesota. The Wild would respond in the 3rd period with three goals not before the Avs added one more to hold off Minnesota and their comeback.

The Denver Broncos have yet to address their quarterback issues, whether it be through free agency or the draft and many fans are getting anxious about the situation. While potential suitors are becoming unavailable from week to week, it appears as though the Broncos will be relying heavily on drafting a quarterback.
With just a few weeks until the draft, it’s unclear as to what direction the Broncos intend to head. While most of the team’s needs have been met during free agency, the Broncos also have nine picks in this year’s draft which can potentially count as capital when positioning for a top quarterback this year.
