Colorado and partners host mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics

As part of Governor Polis’ Vaccines for All efforts, the State of Colorado is working with community-based organizations to host clinics focused on vaccinating underserved Coloradans. This includes COVID-19 vaccination clinics at Juneteenth celebrations in Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora, and Pueblo.

“Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is the celebration of the emancipation of slavery in Texas. We choose this as one of our celebration days to honor the contribution of Black/African Americans. We are excited to provide the COVID vaccinations to our Black community as we continue to get back to work, get our children back in school, and continue to THRIVE in community and beyond,” said Kay Rhines of Black Girls Media, who organized one of the Juneteenth events below.

Vaccines are free, and no insurance, ID, or appointment are required to get vaccinated.

White House

When President Biden took office 150 days ago, more than 3,300 Americans were dying each day, more than 185,000 Americans were infected with COVID-19 cases a day, and the economy had lost millions of jobs.

Today, thanks to the President’s COVID-19 strategy, the virus is in retreat. 300 million shots have been administered in 150 days, COVID-19 cases and deaths have decreased by more than 90 percent, and the economy is experiencing the strongest rebound in decades.

Colorado Governor

Governor Polis announced the winner of the third $1 million Colorado Comeback Cash Vaccine Drawing. Pete Vegas of Boulder is the latest vaccinated Coloradan to win $1 million.

“Today, I had the pleasure of giving away $1.25 million dollars in prizes to Coloradans throughout our state just for getting vaccinated. There are so many good reasons to get vaccinated, whether it’s to see family or to go to a baseball game, or to protect yourself and those you love,” said Governor Polis.

Denver Mayor

With extreme heat arriving in the city and the metro area over the next few days, the City and County of Denver is offering support and tips to residents to help them beat the heat and stay cool with these uncomfortably high temperatures.

“Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 100 degrees over the next few days, which puts our vulnerable populations, and even healthy individuals, at risk. We want all of our residents to stay safe during this extreme heat, so we’re offering support to help everyone stay cool,” Mayor Michael B. Hancock said.
