LAEF announces new Board Members
The LAEF Board of Directors proudly announces the appointment of new board members, Jason Castro, Abel Chavez, Lawrence Garcia and Guillermo Lambarri. Each of these individuals are very passionate about helping Hispanic and Latino students further their educational goals and ultimately advance the educational, leadership, and economic status of all Hispanics and Latinos to improve the greater community.
Jason Castro is a Certified Public Accountant and the Senior Financial Accountant for National Jewish Health. Previously, he worked for the Denver Health Foundation. Mr. Castro earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Regis University and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Colorado State University Global.
Dr. Abel Chavez is the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado. Dr. Chavez earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver. He then earned an Executive MBA in Business Finance and Management from the University of Houston and a PhD in Civic Engineering and Sustainable Urban Infrastructures from the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Chavez is also a proud LAEF alumni.
Lawrence Garcia is the Senior Manager of Labor and Employee Relations for Denver Public Schools. Before working with Denver Public Schools, Mr. Garcia worked at the Colorado Education Association. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Mathematics from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Guillermo Lambarri is the Director of External & Legislative Affairs at AT&T. Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Lambarri worked at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Lambarri earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and International Business from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and an Executive MBA in Global Leadership from the University of Houston.
