Fans across the world are mourning the tragic death of singer Jenni Rivera. She was 43.
Rivera was on board a Learjet LJ25 on Sunday, Dec. 9 near Monterrey, Mexico when the plane lost contact with air traffic controllers. Six other passengers were also killed.
Rivera’s family members traveled to Mexico to bring her remains back to California for burial. Information over her funeral has not been released.
Rivera gained fame as one of the top, and few women, banda selling artists — selling more than 15 million albums. The outspoken Diva de la Banda as she was fondly called, was a Grammy-nominated artist who was also a Billboard Mexican Music Awards recipient. She was a reality TV star on Mun2 and was a judge on the Mexican version of “The Voice.” Rivera made her acting debut in the independent film “Filly Brown,” which is set for release in 2013.
Rivera leaves behind five children and two grandchildren. Share your thoughts on the passing of Jenni Rivera at www.facebook.com/LaVozColorado.
