The Denver Nuggets enjoyed a four game winning streak last week until the Houston Rockets came to town. Although the Nuggets loss to the Rockets on Saturday was a close one (109 - 105), it didnít help Denverís push for the post season as the Portland Trailblazers continues to nip at the heels of the Nuggets. The Nuggets most certainly had a chance to makeup for the loss Monday night in Houston as the Nuggets seemed poised to enact revenge for their loss from Saturday night. The problem, James Hardin, who combined for 79 points in the two games that could have placed Denver well ahead of the Trailblazers. Fortunately for the Nuggets there are still 12 games to increase their lead to help solidify a spot in the 2017 playoffs.

Last weeks win streak helped Denver, however, Portland is on a two game winning streak and only a half game behind the Nuggets. The Nuggets are set to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Indiana Pacers and the New Orleans Pelicans, teams that Nuggets are 2 - 1 against for the season, in fact the Nuggets havenít played the New Orleans Pelicans since the first game of the season but are scheduled to face them three times over the next several weeks. Denver has played and beat the Indiana Pacers once this season and are scheduled for just one more game against Indiana Friday night, March 24, at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in Indianapolis. Denver has also only played the Cleveland Cavaliers once this season resulting in a 125- 109 loss however the loss took place pre-Andrew Bogut season ending injury (Cleveland Center) who has played a significant role in Clevelandís success this season. Since Bogutís injury the Cavaliers have gone 5 and 3 which required the Cavs to call up Center Tristan Thompson who also suffered and injury to his teeth after catching an elbow from Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle in their win over the Lakers on March 19th in L.A.

In other sports, the Colorado Rockies opening day is just weeks away and with the smell of Spring across the Front Range, baseball fans are becoming anxious for the boys of summer to finally take the field. The Colorado Rockies are 13 - 11 over Spring Training, with 9 games left before the start of the 2017 season. The Rockies open their season in Milwaukee to face be Brewers before returning home to host the L.A. Dodgers in their season home opener. Colorado will play the Dodgers in a three game series beginning April 7th.
