The Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD) is pleased to announce Aurora Cinco de Mayo. Aurora Cinco de Mayo will be held at Fletcher Plaza at 9898 E. Colfax Ave., Saturday, May 5th from Noon - 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 6th from Noon - 6 p.m. near the Martin Luther King Library in urban Aurora. This event is free and open to the public. The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is presenting “An Exploration of Navajo Weaving”. To compliment the program, the monthly Indigenous Film Series will present Weaving Worlds on Wednesday, May 9th. This event will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Ricketson Auditorium. Fees are $8 for members, and $10 non-member. Delve into the world of living things that blink, glow, flash, and flicker, from tiny fireflies in the backyard to strange creatures in the ocean’s depths that provide the only illumination. The new exhibition Creatures of Light explores the mysterious world of bioluminescence, visible light generated by living things through a chemical reaction. Lifelike models, spectacular immersive environments and simulations, unusual animals, videos, and engaging hands-on activities create an enlightening experience. Exhibit is free with admission at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd., open everyday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from now until June 10th.
