COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Gutierrez volunteers her time with Rising Rebels by helping students of color engage in AP, CE or Honors courses. Gutierrez also volunteers with Reading Partners where she tutored students with below average reading fluency. Gutierrez also volunteers with Greenway Leadership, a program where high school students help cleanup river ways in the metro area. Gutierrez has also volunteered with Teen Leadership Board where a group of students volunteer at the Athmar Park Library.

WHY IS COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IMPORTANT?

“It makes the world a better place.”

IF I COULD IMPROVE THE WORLD I WOULD...

“I would give everyone the same playing field. There are so many people who are affected by their background (race, gender, economic background, etc.). If everyone had an equal chance the world would be a better place.”

MY COLLEGE OF CHOICE

“I will be attending the University of Denver this fall but have been accepted to Regis University, the University of Northern Colorado, Metro State University of Denver, University of Colorado at Boulder, and Colorado State University Fort Collins.”
