Lakewood Heritage, Culture & the Arts will host INSPIRE Arts Week from Thursday, May 31 to Sunday, June 10 with a broad array of free and discounted events presented by art and cultural organizations throughout Lakewood. The 11-day event showcases the vibrant and rich arts culture that exists in the third largest city in the metro area. Explore more than 30 events such as exhibition openings at Lakewood Cultural Center, First Friday art walks and the opening celebration of the four-mile 40 West ArtLine outdoor gallery experience, live music, dance performances and the Rockin’ Block Party at Lakewood Heritage Center among others. On Saturday, June 9 and Sunday June 10, in the West Washington Park neighborhood, the Art Students League of Denver (ASLD) will host the 26th Annual Summer Art Market, an event with 234 visual artist booths, artist demonstrations, kidART programming, live music and food and beverage vendors. Downtown Aquarium Denver is thrilled to start summer with two amazing celebrations! The Downtown Aquarium will host their Summer Kick-Off Celebration on Wednesday, June 13 from 5–9 p.m. Families can enjoy arts & crafts, animal appearance and a special appearance by Sharkey and his friends. Beginning Thursday, June 4, Summer Family Nights, where families can enjoy various discounts, will occur every Monday – Thursday from 4 p.m. – close. Running until July 26, families can receive discounted kids meals, exhibit tickets, carousel tickets and more.

One of Aurora’s most delicious events, Buskers, Brews & BBQ, is coming to Saturday, June 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition will bring BBQ flavors and smells to the Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway. Thirty teams will be competing for the Colorado state championship title in the pork ribs, pork, chicken and beef brisket categories. Event goers can purchase BBQ Bucks for $2 online or at the entry gate in order to sample the savory BBQ from competing teams. Buskers will be roaming the lawn delighting the crowd with their quirky and unique street performances from juggling to a unicycle, magicians and more. There will be also a free live concert on the main stage by Oakhurst & Gasoline Lollipops and you won’t want to miss all the activities for kids.Food trucks will be onsite selling full meals and desserts. Presented by Bohemian Nights, the Thursday Night Live Concert Series brings out some of the best musical talent Colorado has to offer. Bohemian Nights Presents Thursday Night Live is a series of free summer concerts in Old Town Fort Collins each Thursday until Aug. 2.
