The Colorado Rockies and their fans are headed into All-Star week on a cloud. The Rockies have won 11 of their last 14 games sweeping the Seattle Mariners in three games as well as the San Francisco Giants late in June.

Colorado’s most recent win was a Story-time walk off homer. On Sunday at Coors Field Colorado fell behind to the Mariners early (2-0) in just the first inning. Colorado evened the score 2-2 in the third. Neither team scored until the 7th but it was Trevor Story who stole the win from Seattle in the ninth on a walk off solo homer that sealed Colorado’s win over the Mariners and provided a glimpse as to why he, Charlie Blackmon and Noland Arenado are heading to the All-Star game.

When the Rockies return they’ll be in Arizona to face the Diamondbacks who were division leaders until recently when the L.A. Dodgers took that spot. Colorado is just two games behind the division-leading Dodgers and a game and a half behind the Diamondbacks. The Rockies have an opportunity to not only move into second but, steal the top spot back. The Dodgers face a struggling Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park when they return. Despite Milwaukee losing six of their last eight they’re still in second place in the NL Central 2.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs.

In other sports the Colorado Rapids were scoreless in their game against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night, however, Houston failed to score as well. Colorado’s time of possession improved and they outshot the Dynamo 10 shots to 8. This week, the Rapids gear up for the Real Salt Lake, who beat them back in April 3-0.

The Denver Broncos have been busy with OTA’s (Organized Team Activities) and Quarterback Case Keenum has been hitting second and third team receivers in stride down field, across field and out of the back field with ease. If there was any doubt about what Keenum brings to the Broncos organization, his work in Dove Valley has been speaking for itself. Keenum has quite a bit of targets this season with but some may be on the bubble while Denver evaluates who will be second and third to Damaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

The FIFA World Cup has wrapped up and Belgium beat England 2-0 for the number three spot while France beat Coratia 4-2 Sunday in Russia to win the Cup. Despite France being outshot 2 to 1 and out-possessed they managed to outlast the Croatians.
