The Mexican Cultural Center in partnership with Alliance Sports Association, Museo de las Americas, and the Colorado Symphony Association are thrilled to present the “México en el Corazón”, a beautiful and exciting, free community concert showcasing the traditional dance and music from Mexico. For the past 33 years the Guadalajara Folkloric Ballet has served as the ambassador of Mexico in spreading its traditions all over the world. This year along with Mariachi Juvenil Colotlán they will put on an event that will help the community connect and learn about the Mexican traditions. Gonzales, Writer of the short story “Finding the Lady Llorona,” on Saturday August, 25 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. Finding the Lady Llorona takes place in the 60’s in the West Colfax Neighborhood where three friends seek to find the truth about La Llorona in disguise at the gully by the railroad tracks and the area 50 years later.
Join the High Plains Environmental Center for a Scavenger Hunt and Nature Walk on Saturday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the High Plains Environmental Center, 2698 Bluestem Willow Dr. A Scavenger Hunt Bingo board will be provided to guide the walk.
