Mayor Mike Johnston was sworn in as Denver’s 46th mayor on July 17, 2023. He is a Colorado native who learned Spanish at an early age and started his career as a school-teacher. However, he perfected Spanish as a principal in Colorado where most of his students were Spanish-speakers and the children of immigrants. This provided him an opportunity to practice with his students and their families.

As Mayor, he is committed to transforming Denver into America’s best city by delivering a city that is vibrant, affordable, and safe for everyone.

LaVozColorado will provide information on a weekly basis provided by the Mayor’s Office for our readers. It will publish in Our Government section of LaVozColorado.
