Former Kenyan NFL player deported
Daniel Adongo, a former NFL player from Kenya, has been deported by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Adongo played linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts for two years and overstayed his visit, authorities said. ICE said Adongo had been arrested multiple times and was a threat to the community. Adongo has not commented on allegations against him.
Nigeria set to expand military
Nigeria President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 28,000 extra soldiers. The country is working to combat security challenges it has faced recently from armed groups like militant Islamists and gangs who kidnap civilians for ransom. Nigeria is also planning to create four new army divisions.

South Korean tech giant chairman ordered to pay ex wife $644 million
Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, has been ordered by a South Korean court to pay his ex-wife $644 million. South Korea media has called the case the “divorce of the century.” Chey was married to Roh, the daughter of a former president, before it was learned that he fathered a child with another woman. SK Group runs a semiconductor giant that supplies chips to Nvidia.
India cockroach protest canceled
India’s Cockroach Janta Party, an online satirical campaign, is halting its five-week-long protest after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned. He resigned on X saying he respects the aspirations, dreams, and expectations of the youth. The protests escalated after police cracked down on marchers heading to parliament, injuring dozens of demonstrators.

Russia missiles target exhibition, kill 15 people
At least 15 people were killed recently after Russia attacks targeted an exhibition near Kyiv. The exhibition was showcasing drone technology, and officials said around 100 people were also injured during the attack. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian strike last Friday in Russia killed six people and injured 26 others.
Berlin Pride event targeted
A white van drove into a crowd of people at a pride event in Berlin, killing one woman and injuring at least 29 others. Following the van attack, several others were stabbed and injured. Police said the incident was likely an “Islamist terror attack” and shot and killed a 21-year-old suspect.

Maduro to face trial next June
Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will face trial next June, a New York judge ordered. Maduro and his wife Cila Flores were seized by US forces in January. They face allegations of weapon and drug offenses and denied the charges. A pretrial hearing is set for Nov. 17.
Fire kills 10 family members in Peru
A fire at a home in Lima, Peru killed 10 people of the same family, including five children. Authorities are investigating allegations that the fire was started by arsonists. The family had allegedly received threats and demands for extortion payments recently. The bodies were burned beyond recognition.

Former NFL quarterback arrested for driving intoxicated
Tony Romo, former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and commentator for CBS, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Milwaukee County. It is Romo’s first offense related to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He has not commented on his arrest, and if found guilty, he could have his license suspended and be required to pay a fine.
Teen pleads guilty to Georgia school shooting
Colt Gray, 16, has pleaded guilty for shooting and killing two students and two teachers in a Georgia school. Gray was 14 at the time of the shooting and was charged as an adult with malice murder, weapons violations, and cruelty to children. His father was found guilty of murder earlier this year, because he gave Gray the gun used in the shooting as a Christmas present.
