Our Government

President Trump’s Proclamation on National Black History Month:   From the very beginning, our country has been blessed with countless black American heroes.  For more than two and a half centuries, these legends have made timeless contributions to our government, laws, military, economy, workforce, and culture.  With their tremendous legacy in mind, as President, I proclaim that “black history” is not distinct from American history — rather, the history of black Americans is an indispensable chapter in our grand American story.

Colorado Governor

Colorado Governor Jared Polis called for federal action to support freedom and Coloradans’ rights to be responsible gun owners and responsible marijuana users at the same time.  “There is no reason that someone should be banned from exercising their Second Amendment right simply because they use marijuana, especially when that logic is not being applied in the same way to other substances such as alcohol,” said Governor Jared Polis.

Denver Mayor

Mayor Mike Johnston announced Denver has joined three dozen cities and counties in an amicus brief against the Trump Administration’s unlawful invasion of Minneapolis.  “ICE’s occupation of American cities must end now,” said Mayor Mike Johnston. “It’s not enough that two innocent people are dead, or that their families are unlikely to ever see justice served. ICE isn’t keeping us safe from the bad guys. Right now, they are the bad guys – and the longer they remain on our streets without immediate reforms the more people are in danger.”
