Hickenlooper Statement on USPS Proposed Mail-In Voting Rule

Date:

U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper released the below statement in response to the U.S. Postal Service’s (USPS) proposed rule that would radically crack down on mail-in voting by sending ballots only to voters who are registered with the federal government.

“President Trump wants to make it harder for Americans to vote because his illegal tariffs, war, and healthcare cuts are crushing working families,” said Hickenlooper on social media. “Mail-in voting is safe, secure, and accessible. We proved that in Colorado when we expanded it statewide during my time as governor. We’ll fight this illegal act of cowardice with everything we’ve got.”

Hickenlooper has consistently fought back against Trump and MAGA Republicans’ voter suppression bill and stood up to their attacks on mail-in-voting, a provenly safe and secure voting method. As governor, Hickenlooper created the gold-standard mail-in-voting system in the country, providing millions of Coloradans with easier access to the ballot box.
