Groundbreaking news in the NBA, superstar and ‘Future Hall of Famer’ LeBron “King” James made his decision public on Friday, July 24th that he will be closing off his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. The anticipated announcement was postponed after speculation arose about commissioner Adam Silver pushing LeBron James towards a decision, leading the superstar to “put the league on hold” as many fans have stated. The forty-one-year-old phenom closed a deal with the 76ers on a two-year 8-million-dollar contract. This comes after the 76ers already made substantial offseason moves, acquiring aspiring young talents like Jaylen Brown and Anfernee Simons.
Many fans have theorized that James’s departure from the Los Angeles Lakers was so James could seek out another possible championship or meaningful season as he enters his last two seasons, this theory would be confirmed to be true as James made a statement on X stating, “I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team…”.
