H.R. 1276 removes deed restrictions on a 3.62-acre parcel transferred to the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
H.R. 2069 expands federal spending transparency rules to include other transaction agreements.
H.R. 2196 extends authorization for an Emergency Medical Services memorial on federal land in Washington, D.C.
H.R. 5366 codifies disaster-related tax relief, including casualty-loss deductions and wildfire-payment exclusions.
Colorado Governor
On September 11, 2026, Governor Polis appointed V. William Scarpato, III to the 2nd Judicial District Court. The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Bruce A. Jones and is effective January 13, 2027. Mr. Scarpato is Senior Litigation Counsel and an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado, positions he has held since 2025 and 2020, respectively.
Denver Mayor
Mayor Mike Johnston joined Councilmembers Jamie Torres and Amanda P. Sandoval and Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) Executive Director Jolon Clark in announcing a proposed $50 million project at Sloan’s Lake to restore the environmental health of the lake. The investment is subject to approval by the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) Board and the Denver City Council. “After decades of work, from city team members and Sloan’s Lake neighbors, we are thrilled to announce a plan to restore the health of Sloan’s Lake,” said Mayor Mike Johnston.
