Through all the criticisms, all the setbacks, and most importantly through this rocky eight game stretch for the 2026 season, the Denver Broncos continue to be competitive and have remained their winning selves from last season.
With Sunday night’s nail-biting 28-24 victory over the decorated Kansas City Chiefs at Empower Field, at Mile High, the Denver Broncos have found themselves a new home at the #1 spot in the AFC West with a modest 6-2 record for the season. The Broncos losses coming from the Chiefs who up until week eight were the divisional leaders, and the 6-1 San Francisco powerhouse, the 49ers who are coming off a bye week.
Sunday’s showdown displayed to fans a Broncos roster that finally “unlocked” their offense. Bo Nix easily looked at his best on this Sunday afternoon. The quarterback threw for 62.5 percent completion on 20/32 passing with two touchdowns.
Newcomer and emerging young talent Jonah Coleman kept delivering through his stellar performances. His performance points to him as a key role in Sunday’s victory. Coleman had a touchdown on eleven carries for forty-one-yards, as well as four receptions for sixty-three yards.
Jaylen Waddle also had his prints on Sunday’s game as the wide receiver has properly adjusted to Mile High altitudes. Waddle would rack up a one-yard touchdown in the second to remain competitive.
With the offense keeping up with scoring pace, it would be the defense that would ice the game for the Broncos. On top of ranking fourth in total sacks, the Broncos defense would also hold the goal line in the last moments of the game where Kelce set up the Chiefs in a prime scoring position. However, the momentum swung in the Broncos’ favor with a false start penalty called on the Chiefs in the 4th quarter, the game would officially slip from the Chief’s fingers.
The Denver Nuggets continue to have their highs and lows. Like the Broncos, the Nuggets are facing difficulties getting the cogs going this early in the season, with roster changes, coaching, and lackluster performances, the unfortunate reality for fans right now is the Nuggets just flat-out are a no show in talent. Monday November 2nd’s performance in a 110-118 loss to the Portland Trailblazers, the Nuggets continue to fall flat when it comes to output, efficiency, and consistency as the Blazers rallied for a 14-point comeback.
Criticisms aside, the Nuggets sit at 3-3 and after their next game match up at home against the Toronto Raptors Wednesday, November 4th at 7 p. m. MST, they will have seventy-four more games to figure it out. All fans can do now is just remain faithful.
The Colorado Avalanche have a record of 9-5-1 following Tuesday night’s 5-2 triumphant victory over the Chicago Blackhawks; the Avs look sharp and seem to be warming up nicely. Currently they are riding a three-game winning streak which will hopefully fuel the machine as they face the Columbus Blue Jackets (results at the time of writing are unavailable). A short turnaround for the Avs but nonetheless winnable. After Tuesday’s game against Columbus, the Avs find themselves looking for redemption against the Nashville Predators.
