Brazil advances and Mile High moves

Japan devastated at the World Cup. Brazil crushed Japan’s hopes in winning their first World Cup knockout match as their affair on June 29th ended in a devastating 2-1 loss to officially knock Japan out of contention. The Japan squad has yet to win a knockout match in the World Cup throughout their eight appearances.

Lionel Messi continues his domination performance as he scored yet another goal, extending his world record on goals scored in the World Cup to a whopping nineteen goals, however the blazing young talent Kylian Mbappé closely follows in second with sixteen goals, passing German footballer Miroslav Klose for the number two spot.

The NBA has been buzzing as of recently with blockbuster trades and discussions happening 24/7. On June 29th, Memphis guard and star Ja Morant was traded away to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jerami Grant a former Nugget, and Kris Murray. Morant will look to rekindle and imitate his former self with the change of dynamic and squad in Portland, whereas the Grizzlies will look to building up young talents to become contenders after trading off their key players in the likes of Desmond Bane, Ja, and Jarren Jackson Jr.

Superstar LaMelo Ball had also been involved in blockbuster trades as the two-way phenom was sent off to Minnesota to join the stacked roster. The trade included Naz Reid, a first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps and three second-round picks in return for Ball and guard Josh Green. The Timberwolves look to reinforce their backcourt with the addition of Ball while the Hornets continue to seek young talents that will strengthen their franchise and solidify them as legit contenders.

Superstar Jalen Brown has emerged in Denver sports buzz as rumors of him going the Nuggets squad has started to emerge as the Celtics look to reform their roster after a disappointing loss to the 76ers, the question becomes for Denver fans is how much is the Nuggets front office willing to give away and spend? This rumor has become especially important due to the recent news breaking out about fan favorite and superstar Nikola Jokić delaying and his consideration on not signing an extension with the Nuggets, while fans and staff are not concerned with a sudden departure from Denver, this news has certainly sparked some chatter which will likely persist until the star makes his decision.

The Rockies are set to face the Marlins in a four-game series at home and look to secure their ninth series win and improve on last years recorded eight series wins for the season. Game one will take place June 29th at 6:40pm MST.
